We are excited to present the First Annual Empowerment Evaluation Boot Camp. This program grants youth the opportunity to learn how to use different forms of data and research to advocate for children and family mental health changes. Participants will learn to apply skills to design local evaluation projects and use System of Care (SOC) data to produce reports for the community.
The Empowerment Evaluation Boot Camp (EEBC) will feature guest researchers from around the country and from different community based programs in Memphis and Shelby county and is designed to engage youth in SOC evaluation and to build the ca-pacity of community partners. We have developed a series of hands on workshops that are youth friendly and engaging. Youth will learn how to lead a discussion with the new-est software, collect create reports etc. As a result of partaking in this training opportu-nity, youth will have an increased capacity to advocate for themselves and community members through the use of research based strategies. They will accrue knowledge of how to conduct research on topics of their concern and also be able to disseminate in-formation to community members in a variety of creative ways
The next Workshop meeting November 17 from 10-2:00 p.m. at the new CAYD location (the University of Memphis South Campus~CBANA offices).
